A Good Egg

My little man caught on with the egg hunting pretty quickly. He was satisfied with only one egg and the candy inside. It was me that was encouraging him on for all the other eggs. What does that say about me? I'm competitive? I'm greedy? I like candy?

I think it is the latter.

We went on several hunts throughout the week. I dressed Graham in his cute pink-check shirt and within minutes he had wiped a chocolate- caramel egg all down the front. It wasn't how I had imagined the new shirt would be used. But I'm still learning. He is my first child.

Photo Play

(Look at those locks!)

Graham and I got home from California last night late. I was deliriously sleepy, as was he! Marty tucked us in and the plan was to sleep in. To my dismay, the roofers started repairing our roof this morning at 6:30. I almost started crying.

I am at Marty's parents home letting Graham take a nap. The roofers were working directly above his room. When I tried to lay him down he kept looking around to see who was knocking. Graham has now been asleep for 3 1/2 hours. I'm letting him sleep because he didn't sleep well in California. The poor boy hated his porta-crib. So I've been playing with these photos from our trip (not for the whole 3 1/2 hours) It is kind of a hog-pog of techniques, but I'm playing and learning how.

We had a good time in California. We spent a lot of time at the beach and taking care of two little rascals. We shopped and ate and did all the those good things you should do with your sister. I will say, I was loving being back and sleeping next to my man. I missed him for 6 days!

Guess Who?

Our Primary Party was a success! We had a "Getting to know you" theme and played Guess Who with the primary teacher's baby photos, filled out spotlight sheets for the children, got to know the apostles with take-home flip cards, got to know the Bishop and all his cool biking gear and ate cookies and played games picnic style with each class.

Here are some photos!

Baby Boom

These are some photos from my friend Sara's shower.
We served crepes and fondue. Sound familiar?

We also served the cake from the fondant class.
It was hmm, hmm good!

Chocolate, buttercream, gonache, and strawberry preserve.

California Getaway

After three weeks of being very busy I decided (well actually Marty decided) that I should go to California for a week. My sister Megan went to Hawaii with her husband and two kids. Suzy, my other sister, was in California taking care of Megan's little girl Ava. So Graham and I have joined her for the week. Did that make sense?

I'm going to do a catch up post. Because some how days turned to weeks and we are half way through April!

These are photos from our Fondant Class with Chef Jaxon. She is the Chef that Marty and I took the Sushi class with a few weeks ago. Andrea was in town and of course that means... Play, Play, Play!

Randy (Richard's Fiance) , her mother, Tayva, Andrea and I went together.

We learned a lot and came away with a beautiful cake that I used for a friends baby shower!

The Final Cake!

108

I've wanted to report for a few weeks now that I completed the It's Yoga, Yoga Challenge.

3 weeks of yoga, 5 days a week.

We finished by doing 108 Sun Salutations (A, B &C). To celebrate the Spring Equinox.

I was so nervous before we started, because I didn't trust my body. I didn't know how it was going to react. I thought I was going to die half way through! But I kept breathing and made it through. The whole group did them together. Leaving no one behind! Two hours of straight yoga!

But I did it and I'm so proud!

Macbeth

"By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes."

We just got home from Macbeth and it has made me think.
It was an intense play that I have never seen before.
I don't have the energy to do a catch-up post tonight, but I will soon. For now I'm just grateful for my husband and my baby. We will continue to avoid the troubles of the world the best we can. But ponder this quote from the 2006 Ensign.

Zion in the Midst of Babylon

Elder David R. Stone
Of the Seventy

"Last summer, my wife and I had the opportunity to travel to San Diego, California, and there see Shakespeare’s Macbeth at the Old Globe Theatre. We saw two performances, because our daughter Carolyn was playing the part of one of the three witches in that play. Of course, we were delighted to see her in the play and even more delighted when, at a dramatic moment, she said those famous lines: “By the pricking of my thumbs, / Something wicked this way comes” (act 4, scene 1, lines 40–41).

When I heard that, I thought how useful it would be to have an early-warning system which would tell us about the approach of evil and allow us to be prepared for it. Evil is coming toward us, whether or not we have an early-warning system."

To think about the wickedness in the world can be very frightening. When I think of Graham and needing to protect him I worry that I will not be able to. But then I remember the promises and blessings of the Gospel and I feel safer. For now I will cherish this innocent, precious boy.

He is kind of like a Doctor, he fixes most of my problems!
