Wet n' Wild

Disneyland, warm and sunny to start...

My sister Meg and I
(and our oh so similar sunglasses)

Yes, ponchos
(They were $6.50 each, Disneyland loves when it rains)

Babies!

The Santa Barbara Zoo

Look at that smile! So cute...

Patches!

Beach Boys

This is Chris's wonderful mother, Sandy. She rode the Plasma Car we gave Chris for his birthday like a 10 year old! Go Sandy!

Marty and I just got back from a fabulous trip visiting my sister Meg and her family in California. We had so much fun, but it rained and was pretty cold the whole time. It seemed like the sun would come out for just a few hours as we tried to play. We went to Disneyland (which was huge for me and my POTS), Santa Barbara (including the zoo) and the beach. It was also my brother-in-law Chris's birthday. We had a wonderful time celebrating. We gave him a Plasma Car because last year at the annual Sumsion's 4th of July swim party, he dominated the races!! It was also so fun to have Noah, Nicholas and Ava to keep Graham happy! He loves his cousins. The one very depressing thing is that I don't live closer to my sister! (yes, let me wipe my tear) Love you Meg! Thanks for such a great time!

7 MONTHS

Thanks to Aunt Andrea for these fun milestone cards. I wish I could say that I had taken photos each month (1-6), but being so sick kind of got in the way of most of my baby plans. But now that I'm doing a little better I figure I'll just take photos for 7-12 months and that will be fun too! (Allegra and Chelsea this is my attempt at being a photographer!)

Mama Nurse

When I first went into nursing I can't tell you how many friends said, "Oh I couldn't do that!" Then they would go on to say they couldn't work with ALL the fluids- blood, #1, #2, throw up, etc. Well I'm here to tell you that being a mother is VERY similar to being a nurse. So all of you Moms that say you couldn't be a nurse, well you are already doing the work, just without the paycheck!

This past week Graham has been sick with a stomach bug. It has been so sad because he hasn't been his smiley, happy self. I've also struggled to be happy and smiley because of all the clean up involved with a sick baby. I think I've changed my clothes at least 4 times a day for the past week. But I'm happy to say that he is doing better. He kept his food down yesterday and this morning so I think it is coming to a end. To top it all off, Marty has been sick too! But with a head cold, cough, sore throat, etc. So I have to take care of these sickly boys. But to my dismay, Marty keeps plugging along and won't rest! Well, until last night when he went to bed at 8 and then slept all night! It is funny how worried I get when my loved ones are sick. I can't wait until my patients are well again!

Massage Anyone?

Today my Dad treated me to a massage for Mother's Day! It was one of the best massages I've had. I know there are a lot of people who don't like to be massaged by a stranger, but to be honest it doesn't bother me and it is soooo relaxing. I loved it!

A Grand Weekend

I actually have a lot to post about for once! Last week Suzy, my beautiful younger sister, graduated from the University of Utah. It was a fun day to celebrate such a major accomplishment. We did all the graduation festivities and then had a yummy lunch at Market Street. I love having a reason to go to lunch (especially with my family), don't you? Happy day for the Suzkitten... no more class!

Happy Anniversary and Cinco de Mayo!

The next run-of-fun was Marty and I's anniversary, 5-5-05! We decided to celebrate our 3rd anniversary by going to our favorite local hotel, Hotel Park City, and live like Kings! The great Grandma's (thank you Tayva and Mom) watched our little Graham Cracker and we flitted away for 2 days! It was marvelous. We have totally been obsessed with the TV show LOST, so Marty brought a projector and we watched the entire 4th season off of iTunes projected onto a bed sheet on our wall. It was so much fun! We also lounged by the pool and even got ourselves a wee sunburned. We ordered room service, went shopping and loved spending time together. I love being married to Marty!

Okay, now the one funny aspect of this all revolves around my left third toe. Yes, my toe. The reason this is funny is because every year (3 so far) I have had a foot issue on our anniversary. When we went to Costa Rica, band-aids were my best friend after a mean case of "new flip-flops", then I got a mole removed on my foot and couldn't walk or wear a shoe and then this year I got an infection in my left third toe!! So funny, but it hurt so badly so on the way to Park City to start our anniversary we had to stop at an Urgent Care to get some antibiotics because I knew it was infected. You know how you tell yourself, well it will just get better? I'll use neosporin and keep it clean... well remember this story. The doctor told me if I would have waited another day or two they would have had to take my toe! Yes, take my toe off! That would really have topped my year. First POTS and not being able to stand up for 6 months and then losing a toe. I'm so grateful for antibiotics! Thanks you Sir Alexander Fleming!
