Fun in the Sun

The last few days have been warm enough to spend some time outside. I've loved it! I'm so grateful for good friends to get me out of the house. Today we went to an Easter egg hunt with Chelsea and her cute kiddies. Graham didn't do much hunting, but it was fun nonetheless. Here are a few pictures of our outdoor excursions

Look at Graham's cute smile! I just want to eat him up!

A Walk in the Park

My stamina has improved enough to take small, short walks around my Mom's neighborhood and through the park near my home. I can't tell you how wonderful it feels to be able to push little Graham in the stroller and breath the fresh air. I hope that I can stay strong enough to do this often. It makes me reach inside and pull that old Jessie out. My mind is saying, "Body... you have to function because inside there is a great big soul that wants to take a walk in the park!"

Some News...

Well Marty and I had a wonderful trip to Stanford. We flew out Wednesday night and our appointment with Dr. Friday was Thursday morning. She was very knowledgeable, understanding, helpful and kind. A few really good things came out of the appointment. She said, after listening to my history, that she believes it is the kind of POTS that will improve with time. She called it transient. She wouldn't commit to any sort of time line for me, but she did say some people are better at six months and others it takes a lot longer. She had some good medication changes that I will be started and also some lifestyle suggestions that will help with the day to day symptoms. It was also very comforting to be able to tell someone how I feel (which is like crap) and for her to say, "Yes that is a normal symptom!" She gave me her contact information and send if I had any questions she would be there to help. Marty and I left feeling hopeful. Which I've learned is often the only thing we have as we wait this out... hope for light at the end of the tunnel.

On a lighter note, Graham is rolling from his tummy to his back. Here is a little video...

Lastly, but not least-ly it was my little sister Suzy's 22nd Birthday. We had a wonderful family dinner on Sunday for her and last night went out for Sushi. She is beautiful, talented, smart, so so funny and most of all my little Suzkitten! I love you Suz!

Stanford

The past few weeks have been busy. I know that's probably hard to believe considering how sick I've been, but I really did feel pretty well for about two weeks. Marty used Graham in a commercial and was working on a film sketch for a contest. I had a test done on Monday morning and before I went in I had to go off all my medication. It went fine, the test was miserable, but I was able to go back on my medication soon afterwards. The big news is Marty and I are flying to California to see a specialist for POTS at Stanford. Her name is Karen Friday and I have heard and read wonderful things about her. We are hoping and praying for a successful visit. We hope to learn some things that will help me improve and also to gain some understanding on possibly what happened and what to expect. My wonderful mother is watching the baby so the journey should be easier. We will only be gone for 24 hours so I'll report on what we discover. Keep us in your prayers and let's hope for the best!
